Chess Club is one of our ministries. The Chess ministry began about 6 years ago with just a few regular members, but began to grow. Saturdays we gather up many people in our community, international students (with different backgrounds) from University of Texas at Arlington, and a close circle of friends who are regular goers and we meet up at either a building at Lamar Baptist Church, or the Lutheran Student Center (located UTA campus area). Many students we reach out to at other ministry outreaches, called Byriani Night and Tuesday Bible Study, come to the chess club, as well as people we come across in our daily lives. The chess club consists of players from all ages and the door is always open to anyone who would like to join.

Most every week, our chess club meets on Saturday evening. This chess club with the goal of reaching out to the community through chess. It is a great opportunity for us to reach people of all ages from our community and giving them a chance to hear about God through something that is quite commonly played. Those from unexperienced to experienced can come join us. We always start off the meetings with a prayer, then go on to play chess, and end with a very in-depth conversation about a variety of biblical topics. In addition to our discussions over biblical topics, we utilize the time to provide food for our players.
